START

Well I built,primed and started to paint my first figure. It is not going as well as I had hoped I am really really out of practice. I almost feel like giving up. I was going to order more figures but now I am going to hold off till I see if I am going to get any better.

LEGIONARIES

One thing that has come out of my trip out the not so local shop was I ordered a box of regular legionaries. In retrospect it was probably not a really good idea I have not even painted one figure yet. I am planning on this being a long process so I kind of jumped the gun a bit. If I had to order something I should have ordered a blister pack of optio’s or maybe the General. See I am doing it again getting a head of my self.

BASES

One small problem I had was the bases the figures don’t come with them. I wanted to go with the square bases as apposed to the round ones. I had to make was should have been a small trek which ended up being a whole long ordeal. I ended up getting the bases but only 10 of them though and I also found out after there is a place almost literally down the street that sells them.

STANDERED

I am still trying to figure out which standard to use as I am not to sure which is appropriate. I have read a few articles on the uses and significance of the different standards but quite frankly I don’t really understand it. I guess I will have to do more reading.

PRAETORIANS

I have a plan for the painting of my Praetorians. I have the colours scheme in my head and hope to start painting this weekend. I think I will start small and just paint one regular rank and file figure to get some practise rather than starting with one of the special figures. It has been a wile since I have painted a miniature and I am probably a little rusty.

My Minature Army

I have started a new hobby because I have so much free time...Not. I have been reading and loving Simon Scarrow's Eagle series about centurions Marco and Cato. I recently found out about Warlords 28mm roman miniatures and I use to play and paint warhammer 40k miniatures but I have not done any of that for years. Long story short I got a box of warlord 28mm Praetorian guards for Xmas and I am going to blog about my painting and building of same. Who knows I may end up building a whole army.
